“Deep in your wounds are seeds waiting to grow beautiful flowers.” Niti Majethia
This idea what what seems to be in the way IS the way is a powerful one. Wounds call our attention to where it is needed, they offer us the opportunity to heal and grow. Like water lilies growing beautiful blooms out of the mud at the bottom of a pond, our pain and suffering are the mud of existence that enable us to grow flowers, some robust and in rude health, others seeming impossibly fragile and delicate, with their beauty lying in exactly that delicacy.
The job of psychotherapy is to be with whatever is there. Nothing is left out, no part is left behind. We can look in the face whatever wounds exist with the knowledge that so doing will enable growth and blooming. Mud is after all only mud, it washes off just as the effects of trauma can be integrated and used as the manure to support new shoots of life.
You are complete, just as you are. What is happening is often not easy, but there is always a way forward and there is always possibility, however small to begin. Keep on keeping on with whatever you are experiencing and the seeds that need to grow will at the right time sprout forth.
In the meantime, sending love and compassion, and the knowledge that you are not alone.
