Helping you thrive, whatever life brings
I'm now back at work following my maternity leave, and I am working from my brand new therapy room in Grangeside just off Blackwell Lane in Darlington.
The last 18 months has been a time of change with a focus on family life that has kept me grounded. I'm pleased to now be fully back up and running with clients, couples and supervisees, and I have capacity for previous or new clients who want to be in touch.
In this edition you will find an article about ways of anchoring yourself when you feel adrift, a tool for helping you assess the balance in your life and increase it, and some information about the importance of laughter.
Please pass this newsletter on to anyone you feel might get benefit from it. As ever, you can be in touch confidentially at fejrobinson@gmail.com. It's always great to hear from clients and contacts past and new. If this is not for you, you can update your email preferences at the bottom of the page with my best wishes.

Anchoring yourself
A key part of my work as a psychotherapist is helping people to manage their physiological state, to be in a state of relaxation and rest, not of activation. Here are some tips of ways to anchor when you feel you need it.
Balance matters...
Summer can be a good time to step back and reflect, to find a balance between different elements of life. Here's an exercise that can help you to do that, with the goal of living in a way that aligns to your values.

The power of laughter
Here is a piece with mind-blowing statistics about how much good a deep belly laugh does you. What a lovely thing to prescribe to people!
I'll finish today with a poem of my own that I wrote last year, that speaks of interconnection, our true nature, and life. I hope you enjoy it.
I am sparkling sunlight
And the still of the night
I am cleansing fire
And the fertility of the earth
I am the howling wind
And calm summer days
I am the potential of an acorn
And the wide arms of the oak
I am the grace of the gazelle
And the roar of the lion
I am the rootedness of mountains
And the transience of the clouds
I am the softness of the beach
And the power of the waves
I am the laughter of the brook
And the maelstrom of the ocean
I am the innocence of youth
And the wisdom of ages
I am the triumph of birth
And the poignance of death
I am nature
I am life
Wishing you a wonderful summer
