Holding life gently like feathers in the breeze

I was walking through the park today, and a clasp of feathers floated down from the trees I was walking under and landed right in front of me. 5 white feathers, all connected, just beautiful as they drifted down on the breeze.
Naturally, I picked them up. I carried them gently homeward, smiling inwardly and probably outwardly too. The feather is a symbol of freedom and transcendence, and it was good to have a reminder of the interconnectedness of nature as I walked.
My smile became a full bellied laugh when just steps from home a sudden whoosh of wind lifted the feathers out of my cradling hands and carried them off. What a delightful reminder that nothing lasts! I watched them dance off down the street, clearly not destined to adorn my mantlepiece after all.
As I look to picking up new clients once again and returning to practice after my period of maternity, I am excited and open to learn what life has in store for me next. I will be holding life gently like feathers in the breeze.
