Why doing something is not always the answer

There is an old zen saying, meant playfully, that says 'Don't just do something, sit there!'

It can be tempting to think every problem needs to be fixed, that we always need to do something proactive.  With psychological issues this is not always the case.

Working with clients to create a safe, accepting space where we can explore whatever it is that is currently happening can open up the potential for magic to happen, such acceptance often leads to spontaneous change. 

The mind is an Adaptive Information Processing system, it has its own wisdom, sometimes we need to just get out of the way and let that wisdom shine through.
